BayLab Pavilion, Aug 2020

The BayLab Pavilion is a collaborative project public installation and space-making project with the Development Bureau and Walk in Hong Kong in the Belcher Bay Promenade Area. The project aims to explore alternative solutions for shaping and managing public spaces in Hong Kong. Steel scaffoldings were transformed into stationary pavilions with seatings and shades, while movable pavilions and cargo pallets were used as modular units in varying heights. By allowing members of the community to move the modules around the public space and shape it according to their needs, the project has sparked a series of new public space-making experiments that still continue to this day.
